On Saturday, 6 December, our monthly yoga training for pregnant women took place at the hospital, which was offered together with motivational and psychological counselling training. Under the guidance of Dr Renil Fernando and Dr Kumari Fernando, several participants took part in this event. The yoga training was designed specifically for pregnant women and provided an opportunity to harmonise body and mind during pregnancy. The exercises were performed gently and tailored to the needs of the participants, contributing to a relaxing and supportive atmosphere. In addition to the yoga training, the participants gained valuable insights and strategies through the motivational and psychological counselling. Dr Renil and Dr Kumari Fernando shared their expertise on the importance of staying physically and mentally fit during this special phase of life. Through various techniques, the expectant mothers were able to learn how to reduce stress and develop a positive attitude towards their pregnancy. The feedback from the participants was consistently positive. Many reported that the combination of physical activity and psychological support made them feel stronger and provided them with valuable tools for dealing with the challenges of pregnancy. Overall, the event was a great success and enriched the participants both physically and emotionally. We look forward to offering more similar events in the coming months to provide a supportive community for pregnant women.
