Muay Thai National Championships with 16 medals

In early January 2026, Sri Lanka hosted the eagerly awaited National Muay Thai Championships, which saw an impressive 500 participants from across the country compete against each other. Amidst this exciting competition, the Muay Thai Kickboxing Club from Ragama stood out with an outstanding performance and celebrated a remarkable success. With a total of 16 medals won, the club can be proud of its athletes, who not only demonstrated their skills but also embodied the spirit of the sport and the Muay Thai community. This achievement is a fantastic milestone for the club and shows the hard work, training and dedication that went into the preparation. Gold was won by: Elisha Joel Jayasuriya (18): 50 kg; Kishan Deron Thomas (19): 60 kg; Nimsara Wijesekara (23): 68 kg; Shone Rushin (22): 90 kg; Deelan Abhishek (16): 95 kg and Hirushi Kavindi Perera (14): 35 kg. The excitement felt during the championships will surely linger for a long time to come. The Muay Thai Kickboxing Club from Ragama has established itself as a dominant force, setting new standards for future competitions. Congratulations to all athletes and coaches on this impressive achievement!
